Anne Schneider, DO, a family medicine physician with Edward Medical Group (EMG), is one of two family medicine physicians in the United States chosen to participate in the American Academy of Family Physicians’ Vaccine Science Fellowship for 2021.
“The science of vaccines—how vaccines are created, for example—is fascinating to me, but also the policy and recommendations for who should receive the vaccines. There’s also the psychology behind encouraging people to get recommended vaccines and the best way to increase vaccination rates,” says Dr. Schneider. “I would like to help increase vaccination rates in our community. I believe that knowledge I gain through this fellowship will help me do that.”
As part of the fellowship, Dr. Schneider will learn more about vaccine development and participate in meetings with leading experts in public health and immunization, federal and state vaccine policy groups, and vaccine manufacturers.
Dr. Schneider will continue to see patients throughout the fellowship at the EMG office at 1331 W. 75th St., Suite 201 in Naperville.
EMG is a physician practice of Edward-Elmhurst Health and has more than 100 board-certified family practice, internal medicine and specialty physicians who treat patients of all ages.
