The Elmhurst Memorial Hospital (EMH) Foundation has added two new members to its Board of Trustees – Kimberley Darey, MD and Richard Reichert. Both will serve three-year terms that run through 2024.
Dr. Darey, a resident of Glen Ellyn, is Chief Medical Officer/Vice President of Medical Affairs for Elmhurst Hospital. Dr. Darey, who is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) and has been on the medical staff at Elmhurst Hospital since 2010, was previously Medical Director of the Elmhurst Hospital Family Birthing Center.
In that role, she led physicians, nurses and other staff in the development and implementation of evidence-based best practices on the obstetrics unit and has been involved as a leader in ensuring quality practices in the OB-GYN department.
Dr. Darey has served as Co-Chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council, and Co-Chair of the Health Equity Task Force for Edward-Elmhurst Health.
She earned her medical degree from the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and completed her OB-GYN residency at Saint Joseph Hospital Chicago.
Reichert, who was born, raised and lives in Elmhurst, is President and CEO of Community Bank of Elmhurst. He helped launch and is Chair of the EMH Foundation Ambassadors program.
Reichert serves as vice-chair of the Elmhurst Economic Development Commission and is a current member and former chair of the City of Elmhurst and Elmhurst University Commission, long-time member of the Elmhurst Lions Club, former chair of the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and former treasurer of the Elmhurst Heritage Foundation.
He is co-host of the Elmhurst-focused Etown Lowdown podcast and co-founder of the Elmhurst Armpit Orchestra. Reichert attended Purdue University and received a B.S. in Business Administration from Elmhurst University.
