Thank you to everyone who participated in our first systemwide healthy food drive this summer. Your contributions helped hundreds of people in our communities who wake up each morning not knowing when they will have their next meal. From July 25-August 8, NorthShore–Edward-Elmhurst Health collectively donated almost two tons of food and $3,000 in additional monetary donations.
That’s more than 3,600 pounds of donations and more than 12,000 meals for our communities!
A special thank you to our North Region food service provider Aramark who coordinated a generous donation of $5,000 worth of food among the six North Region pantry sites and thank you to our South Region food service team who also donated $1,000 worth of goods to the two South Region pantry sites.
“The Forward Together Healthy Food Drive is a perfect example of how these strategic, 360° partnerships help small organizations, like Common Pantry, create a critical pipeline of support for our guests,” said Margaret O’ Conor, Common Pantry Executive Director.
