Edward-Elmhurst Health has joined the Chicagoland Children's Health Alliance (CCHA) pediatric healthcare enterprise. As a result, all of the pediatric services of NorthShore – Edward-Elmhurst Health are now part of CCHA. Its participation means EEH will expand its own pediatric subspecialty care, as well as provide families in the western suburbs ease of access to a comprehensive array of services across the wider CCHA network. CCHA is a collaborative between Advocate Children’s Hospital, NorthShore University HealthSystem and University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children’s Hospital.
With the addition of Edward-Elmhurst Health, CCHA and its members, in total, have:
--the ability to provide care to 1.8 million children in the Chicago area,
--multiple hospital campuses with more than 800 pediatric inpatient beds, more than 1,100 employed primary care/subspecialists/maternal fetal medicine physicians and more than
110 locations to access care,
--eight Level III NICUs, one pediatric cardiac ICU, four pediatric ICUs and four pediatric emergency departments,
--pediatric transport for patients transferred to CCHA-affiliated hospital campuses for subspecialty care, and
--the addition of adolescent programming through Linden Oaks Behavioral Health.
