Why learn CPR
Effective bystander CPR that is provided immediately after sudden cardiac arrest can double or triple a victim’s chance of survival, but only 32 percent of cardiac arrest victims get CPR from a bystander.
According to the American Heart Association, nearly 88 percent of cardiac arrests occur in the home or away from a hospital or physician's office. It is critical for communities to have access to proper training so individuals do not feel helpless in the event of an emergency.
Online courses
If you aren’t able to make it to one of our class locations, online learning is a convenient option. To take the online course, continue to our online registration and sign up for a skills testing date.
Average completion time for the online portion (Part 1) is 1-2 hours with a 30-60 minute skill test required.
Students who successfully complete Part 1 receive a certificate which allows them entrance to a hands-on skills practice and testing session (Parts 2 and 3), which must be completed with an AHA BLS Instructor within 60 days of completing the online portion. We suggest you schedule Parts 2 and 3 within 30 days of completing Part 1 to give yourself enough time.
An AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers course completion card will be issued upon successful completion of all three parts.
