Philosophy Of Care
Ahmed Hassan, MD, FNCS, is the Medical Director of Neurosciences for Endeavor Health Edward and Elmhurst hospitals.
He is a fellowship-trained and board-certified Neurocritical Care physician, specializing in the care of neurologic emergencies including but not limited to ischemic stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, intracerebral hemorrhage, subdural hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury, seizures, nervous system infection, and neuromuscular disorders.
He attended medical school at the 6-year accelerated BA/MD Honors Program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He completed his neurology residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, where he was named Chief Resident, and also completed his fellowship in Neurocritical Care at Rush.
He worked as Assistant Professor of Neurology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, in the division of Neurocritical Care, followed by joining the Dept of Critical Care Medicine at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL.
He then served as section chief of Neurocritical Care, as well as the Neurology Residency Program Director, at the University of Illinois-Chicago College of Medicine before joining Edward hospital as Neurosciences Medical Director.
Dr Hassan has been internationally recognized as a Fellow of the Neurocritical Care Society (FNCS), and currently serves as Vice President of the Neurocritical Care Foundation.
