Dr. Meghan Kennedy is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Illinois specializing in pain management as part of the Behavioral Health Integration team at Linden Oaks/Edwards-Elmhurst Health. Dr. Kennedy earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois, and specialized her training in behavioral health topics including pain management, chronic illness, weight loss/bariatric surgery, biofeedback, cancer, and primary care. Her training sites included the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago, IL, Franciscan St. James Health in Olympia Fields and Chicago Heights, IL, and a private practice in Joliet, IL. Currently, she works imbedded in the outpatient pain clinics on both hospital campuses to help patients understand the impact of the complex and interconnected relationship between physiological and psychological chronic pain. By using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and pain education she is able to help patients regain focus on their life values, accept the difficult content of human life, and move forward with what is most important to them, in spite of physical and emotional pain. Dr. Kennedy is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Illinois Psychological Association, the American Chronic Pain Association, and the American Academy of Clinical Psychology.
