Private inpatient rooms

Your private room at Elmhurst Hospital is designed to offer you the comforts of home and serve as an inviting space for your loved ones to visit. Each private patient suite includes a family sleeper sofa, restrooms with walk-in showers and 42" flat-screen televisions.

Your loved ones are welcome to stay overnight on the sleeper sofa in your room. A wheeled table and foldout chairs are available in your room for meals or activities, such as card games, which can be brought to your room by a volunteer. Additionally, there are family lounges with kitchens and vending areas on each floor.

Room service

Our culinary and nutrition team serves nutritious, tastefully presented meals with outstanding customer service. Our Wildflower Café delivers freshly-prepared meals to your room at your convenience. View our room service menu.

The hospital’s Volunteer Services can also deliver cards, puzzles, books, newspapers, magazines and movies daily for you or your guests.

Discharge planning

Your healthcare team at Elmhurst will work with you to create your discharge plan, which will be reviewed daily and updated depending on your health needs.

Your discharge plan outlines next steps for follow-up care, such as necessary medical equipment and where to get it, a medication list, and a schedule of future appointments. Depending on your individual needs, your discharge plan may also include information about home care services and palliative care services.
