Meet the host
Mark Gomez, MD (Dr. G) is board-certified internal medicine physician with Edward-Elmhurst Health.
As a practicing physician since 2007, Dr. Gomez urges people to take their health seriously. He believes in empowering patients to take ownership of their healthcare while providing them with the appropriate resources needed for long-term health success, and he believes that equitable access to high-quality healthcare is a right for everyone.
Dr. Gomez earned a bachelor’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis and a medical degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at Loyola University Medical Center.
Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Gomez has built a large and thriving medical practice while serving in a variety of leadership roles within Edward Medical Group. He’s a member of Edward-Elmhurst Health’s System Diversity & Inclusion Council, involved in numerous community organizations and delivers health education workshops to companies, schools, churches and other groups in the Chicago area.
An advocate for lifelong learning, Dr. Gomez held past memberships in the American College of Physicians, National Medical Association and National Lipid Association. He has demonstrated a long-standing personal commitment to service and social responsibility, locally and internationally. He has participated in international medical mission trips to Bolivia, Honduras and Peru.
Dr. Gomez has received numerous awards and recognition as a physician leader, including the Community Leadership Award from the DuPage County NAACP in 2012, President’s Award from the DuPage County NAACP in 2013, Certificate of Appreciation from the Women’s Institute for Global Leadership at Benedictine University in 2013, Certificate of Appreciation from the DuPage County NAACP Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO) in 2014, and he was the keynote speaker for the Health Profession Recruitment and Exposure Program at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in 2014.
Dr. Gomez lives in Plainfield with his wife Tiffany and two children.
