Behavioral Health Integration

Behavioral Health Integration (BHI) at Endeavor Health combines mental and physical healthcare to address emotional and behavioral factors affecting your health. Licensed BHI clinicians—psychologists, counselors, or social workers—work alongside your primary care provider to deliver short-term, solution-focused care during or after your medical visit.

What health concerns are treated?

  • Anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues
  • Life stressors: grief, loss, relationship problems, job stress, or new diagnoses
  • Substance misuse
  • Behavioral factors affecting chronic conditions like diabetes or heart disease
  • Sleep issues and challenges related to stress, diet, and exercise

How BHI works

  • Your primary care provider refers you for BHI services.
  • Initial 20-minute consultation: Discuss your concerns, complete screenings, and create a care plan.
  • Short-term therapy: Evidence-based sessions available in person or virtually to fit your needs.
  • Care coordination: Your BHI clinician communicates with your primary care provider and psychiatric team to support your treatment goals.
  • Navigation: Assistance with connecting to other behavioral health services, such as Linden Oaks Behavioral Health or community resources.

Medication support through the BHI Medication Clinic

For those needing medication management, a psychiatric provider will see you within seven days of referral. After stabilization, your primary care provider will take over medication management for continued support.

Your BHI care team

  • BHI Clinician: Licensed mental health professional providing therapy and support.
  • Primary Care Provider: Coordinates overall care and works closely with your BHI clinician.
  • Psychiatric Provider: Offers medication options for mental health conditions when necessary.

BHI emphasizes frequent communication between your BHI clinician and your medical care team to ensure seamless, integrated care.

Benefits of BHI

  • Brief, targeted care during or after your regular medical visit
  • Improved coordination between your physical and emotional health providers
  • Flexible in-person and virtual therapy options
  • Guidance to additional behavioral health resources when needed
  • Freedom to opt-out at any time
