Spine Neurosurgery

Neurosurgeons primarily focus on the surgical treatment of neurological-related disorders. Some neurosurgeons specialize in spine surgery, while others focus on the brain. Many neurosurgeons perform both spine and brain surgery. Their area of expertise is performing surgery inside the membrane (dura) enclosing the spinal cord, addressing conditions such as spine tumors and spinal cord injuries. Both neurosurgeons and orthopedic surgeons perform most types of spinal surgery.

Orthopedic Spine Surgery

Orthopedic surgeons handle conditions related to the musculoskeletal system – the parts of your body that allow you to move, including your bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, tendons and nerves – and can address spine deformities such as scoliosis. Both neurosurgeons and orthopedic surgeons perform most types of spinal surgery.

Neurosciences Institute

The Neurosciences Institute features the most advanced drug therapies and interventional neurosurgery techniques to treat neurological diseases, and offers nationally-recognized stroke and neuroscience care.
